Then Shik-joong strolls over to the freighter and knocks on its window. When the driver rolls down the window, he tosses another bomb inside.

Yoon-sung intends to return the money to their sources, and then continue his Kim Jong-shik revenge. Dad whips out his cane and whacks Yoon-sung with it, bringing him to his knees. Jin-pyo gets into the truck and drives off, leaving Yoon-sung stranded in the road alone. Kim Jong-shik is much less amused as in, not at all and flips his lid when he hears the money has been stolen.

Panic, rage, shock. With that, Team City Hunter gets down to business, boxing up money to mail back to the appropriate students. The accompanying note states that the City Hunter is returning funds hoarded by the university chairman for his personal use, in order to honor the tuition promise.

An interesting aside: One of the demonstrators is the bitchy girl from the previous episode, whom Yoon-sung had chided for her bad attitude. Feeling celebratory, Shik-joong sends Yoon-sung and Nana to the supermarket for party ingredients.

Which is when the automatic sliding doors slam shut, separating the two, and the lights cut out. OH NO. I doubted this drama would go that dark, but thematically speaking, it would have worked wonderfully with the direction the story is taking. Thus far, Yoon-sung is the voice of justice and reason , while Jin-pyo is driven by bloodlust. That means this not only becomes a son-vs-father battle, and a City-Hunter-vs-baddies-vs-The-Law battle — but a Yoon-sung-vs-himself battle, in which he fights to claim himself from the dark side.

How great would that be? I would have been massively impressed had they gone that route, definitely. Even if it would have broken my heart. I want them to wrap up this season as planned, then take some time to plot out a Season 2 with a new arc and a new set of character development issues, and see that complete story through as badassedly as they did this one.

Which, I think, is entirely feasible, possible, and desirable given that this season — imma call it Season 1 because I blindly refuse to give up the idea of a Season 2 — is really an origin story. I just came back from PI for vacation and i came across this channel that airs original korean dramas and they kept advertising City Hunter that will start this coming Monday. Hope they'll find a good voice for PMY. Min-Ho already has a good tagalog subbed voice with ABS. You can only take so much in one series This isn't 24 and she's not Kim Bauer! When I first saw the cheesy promo posters for City Hunter, I had no idea this would turn into my crack of the summer. And LMH makes everything even better. So despite the hyperventilation many had last night, that cliffhanger was indeed the fake-out I thought it would be. Ahjusshi getting googly-eyed at Eun-ah is super creepy, and I thought was unnecessary. I guess a subconscious effort to tide me over until next week from one LMH project to another.

As someone who is much older than either of them, I find Ahjusshi's infatuation sweet and quite believable. Flirtations exist all the time between older and younger people. Usually those flirtations are innocent and part of being human.

It's more because Ahjusshi has been trying to look out for Nana in a father-like manner, and so seeing him falling over his feet over Eun-ah seems akin to crushing on a daughter's friend. I see what you mean. When I was in college, a friend's father was flirty with me.

I just finished the entire series and I found that my favorite episodes had to do with "The Scooby Gang" in which you really see them working as a whole and feeling as a whole as well. I think they looked at each other and they both agreed he will save the girl and the other will catch the man.

These two are doing such perfect synchronized team work I don't think they had agreed on something. It was a silent agreement. Check out that scene again. Just before they both dash off, they looked at each other eye to eye which seem to say you get the guy, i get the girl sort of split-second understanding. And he would not choose to pursue Seo instead when he knows he cant go very far because his case is in the bag anyway after that revealing video.

For that split-second there was a seeming understanding between YS and YJ. Somewhat surprising actually because YJ does not know that was YS and yet he trusted him. Maybe because the CHunter had been helping him all along and he thought he was doing all of these things to help the nation and not for personal revenge. But from the perspective of YJ, if he knew YS was the CH he might not let him save Nana because he does not trust YS as he previously said to his face in the case of his ex-wife what more with Nana?

Now why would he rather run after Seo and leave Nana to the CH? Is he that cold-blooded to choose work over Nana Or was it because he trusted the CH would do the right thing over Nana knowing he had been helping him with his cases all along? I guess I'm the only one who thinks YJ though he might have develop some feelings for Nana he only takes care of her because he feels guilty.

He's father put Nana in the world she lives now and he tries to make up for it. But what he really cares about is his job.

Not so sure about it. But then again that is the way I see it. I feel like even though there was non-verbal communication between the two, it does not nullify girlfriday's interpretation of the significance of the choice.

Maybe City Hunter was standing closer and thats why he went to Nana, but I still think it is symbolic of their relative positions. There is no way CH would have left Nana hanging, while Young-Ju may have been more hesitant to prioritise personal feelings over work - not that he wouldn't, just that he'd be more hesitant.

I do find it believable that Young-Ju would feel they could trust each other though, as he's always shown that he is sympathetic to CH's actions in taking down the corrupt, and probably thinks of him as an idealistic vigilante rather than a terrorist. They are both men with a passion for justice and an underlying understanding of that, them working together when it comes to the quick is entirely believable for me. I don't think so?

I mean there is no reason for YJ to think that YS would care enough about Nana to save her rather than run after his target. Yeah, see, the mask would do nothing to hide his identity from me if I were somehow in this drama world. His face is pretty, but I spend faaaaaar too much time looking at his.. When he got shot I was a little happy, only because I knew he would have to take his shirt off more.

Anyway, its definitely not for sure, but I'm totally hoping for the 'silent agreement to save the girl and catch the bad guy together' scenario, its just too cute. That's how I interpreted it too - that right before they took off running, they shared a look, which signified who would go after who. Of course, that would also imply indirectly? Otherwise, I doubt he wouldn't have left Nana in his hands if he didn't know he was personally invested in her safety, and could be trusted.

Although, considering the lack of a real disguise, knowing his identity now wouldn't be all that surprising, lol. In any case, we'll know for sure in the next episode. And that makes me even more curious to see what happens next!! Not necessarily. Based on his track record in the Blue House, YS was not known to be good in either judo, firing a gun or for any athletic ability remember he even let Seo's son pulp him without any fight. But since he knew the CH was an excellent marksman and amazing fighter, he would be more willing to entrust Nana's safety to him.

And quite frankly, it's about time YS gets a sidekick not named Father. I only mentioned it as a hypothetical situation. I feel like the whole look between them was that even though the two boys YJ and CH were playing cat and mouse in the stairwell moments before, they had even more important targets.

They both were after Seo but he had NaNa which made things more complicated. When NaNa got flung to the side and Seo ran off, the boys were faced with the decision of what was more important, the job or the girl. YJ chose the job as normal and CJ chose the girl whom he loved. For me, as much as I anticipated the last few episodes to see what happens next, I found the earlier episodes more entertaining. The last episodes were just so I knew how the story ended. Lee Min Ho your acting skills is really really good.. I love this drama very mush although the end was sad specially when Kim Young Joo died also Lee Jin Pyo his death was very sad but I expected that. Lee Yoon Sung is very nice and his action act was very very very wonderful. Ep7 is thrilling.. At first i really underestimate this drama, this drama dont come up on my must-watch-kdrama list… I doubt lee min ho will do a good job here.. But, voilaa with just the first two episodes this drama catch my attention and my heart..

Ep8 was wow.. Really love this drama so much.. Great series over all. Entertainment, action, romance, twists in the story, everything about it were all fun to watch. All the characters chosen for the series were also perfect for it. Only thing i would have hoped for though was to have a better ending. Well still a great a series, will miss this very much!! They could make it one more episode so the viewers can watch how they live happily and it would be nice if they do.

Lee Min Ho was a revelation. Nice pair up with park Min Young and the rest of the characters made this drama worth watching. Oh my ep11 was really nerve wrecking!! And he did his own stunts! I like it very much. Is there going to be a Season 2? I really hope so! This show is probably my favorite because all of the characters were so real. They were all smart at what they did. I want more Lee Min Ho! So beautiful and awesome. How can Hwang Eun-kyung make a magic story like this?

Action, romance, family, sadness, happiness, disappointment, history and etc. It has given me a million feelings about it. I can cry. I can smile. I can hate. I can love. I can feel many feelings when I saw this drama. Once again, I love it. Really love it! An excellent mixture of humor, seriousness, and the importance of family ties may it be not blood related. I really wish the producers would consider transforming the story into multiple series. We need at least a Season 2 and Season 3 with the potential this drama is capable of delivering.

Really recommend it to anyone! Great cast! Good job all!! This is the first time I watchd a Korean movie and I was blown away.

Guess I picked one of the best as my first. Lee Min Ho was great and I love that little cutie pie Park min young. She is very beautiful and a wonderful actress. Yes, its true, I was glued to the TV. The action and romance was excellent. I liked it so much that I replay certain parts of an episode. City Hunter, in my opinion, is considered the best Korean drama that I have ever seen. I really enjoyed every episode of it and every second watching it was worth it.

Also, I really miss those days where I would count down the days left to watch the new episode!! I hope that lee min ho will have another action drama because he played his role amazingly in this drama. Season 2 please!!! No sense of closure. I really love this drama,this is the second action Korean drama after iris that make me crazy with. It could be the script, she talks too much — annoyingly so. He also won Hallayu Star award. I really enjoy this series alot.

As already being a fan of min ho, I really love how he acts. I want to wish him the best of luck and continue to act in as many show as he could, in overseas and korea. I bet you guts will like this show as much as I do or maybe even more!

Honestly from the bottom of my heart and i swear in the name of God, IRIS much more interesting than this drama.. It was good. But I would love to watch the anime more than this drama. I do wish there was more romance, but it makes sense that the main character was more focused on revenge than getting the girl.

The ending is left to the audiences own perspective. So it could be either sad or happy for you. I recommend it too anyone who is not queasy about blood and violence. I did grit my teeth in my frustration. I love both the anime and the kdrama!! Lee Min Ho has improved a lot in his acting. The ending was kinda a bummer… hope to see more of Lee Min Ho. I watched it on Netflix!! Luv this KDrama sooo much. I hope that they could have another KDrama series again. I was expecting more.

The viewers of course always expect for a happier ending. Job well done!
